Benefits of Andrew Wright Glass

Track Record

History matters because it demonstrates longevity, which in turn reflects adapting as markets evolve.  Founded in 1937 by Andrew Wright, AWG was the main glazing contractor to the British Empire Exhibition of 1938, in Bellahouston Park.  After World War II the company won the contract to re-glaze the blitz-damaged buildings of Belfast.  Today we are proud fabricators using Veka uPVC profile, recognised across the world as one of the finest available.

Ownership

The company remains private with a skilled and loyal workforce, rooted in Irvine where it remains one of the larger employers.  The business has had only four owners in nearly a century.  The founder, Andrew Wright, died in1940.  His family continued to run the business until 1986, when they sold it to Sovereign Frames.  Ten years later it was sold to Mr Charlie Berry who guided and grew the business until 2023, when it was bought by the current owners.

Scale

AWG manufactures around 1000 glass units per week, based on only one shift.  It is neither so big that it is disinterested in smaller customers, nor so small that it cannot support larger operations.  Our systems and knowledgeable staff are committed to getting things right first time, with errors quickly rectified.

Service

The company knows its customers, appreciates that they are busy and operates in partnership with them.  Reliability is a fundamental part of the AWG approach to customer service from the office team to the operatives making your units to the team at despatch and delivery.  Over 99% of product last year (2024) was delivered on or before the date required.
